牠在飛行嗎？是也不是，若沒有與之周旋、跟拍數小時，也無法探得這鐵漢的秘密。孤傲的食蟲虻雄蟲遇見喜愛的佳人時，為討得佳人歡心，會收起平時獵殺獵物的兇狠模樣，為雌蟲跳一支舞。奮力且快速地拍著翅膀，其羽翼與身體的尾部會形成一條完美的弧線；胸部的腳收屈著，後腿也儘量的往後擺，以最完美姿態在佳人面前逡巡，跳出一生最美麗的舞步。

Is this insect flying? Yes and no. By observing and photographing the robber fly, I was able to find out its secrets. When encountering a potential mate, the aloof and aggressive male changes its behavior to attract the female. It rapidly flaps its wings and forms its body into a perfect curve. The front and mid legs are retracted, while the hind legs are extended outward to create this beautiful dance pose.
